Chat with Miralee Ferrell
Miralee Ferrell  grew up in small town America and married her high school sweetheart. They raised two beautiful children and worked together on a variety of businesses over the years. She also worked in sales and won regional and state awards in the insurance industry. After her children graduated and started lives of their own, she began praying about what would fill the time she once poured into her busy family. In 2005 she got the answer.

While at a church service the speaker prayed with her, and suggested that he believed God might be saying she should write. Not only write, but that her work should be published. She's always been an avid reader and dabbled in writing, but never considered it as a serious calling. After talking to her husband and praying about her decision she decided to embark on a new adventure. Two years later her debut novel, The Other Daughter, released with a traditional Christian publishing house and since then, three more books have followed, with another historical romance contracted for release Feb., 2011.

Miralee now serves as the President of the Portland, Oregon chapter of American Christian Fiction Writers and belongs to a number of writer's groups, attending 2-3 conferences each year. She also speaks at women's groups and churches about her writing journey. When she started writing fiction she believed that she'd always stay within the women's contemporary category, but has since branched out to historical romance.

The Other Daughter is family/marriage and issue related, and follows a family of four who receive a shock in the form of a 13-year-old girl landing on their doorstep, claiming to be the daughter of the husband/father of the family--who no one knew existed. Finding Jeena is the follow up to that book (also women's contemporary) and features a secondary character from the first book. Finding Jeena releases the end of this month and is available in bookstores and on Amazon and other online sites.

She's working on her third historical romance with Summerside Press in their Love Finds You books, all set in a real town in America, either historical or contemporary. Miralee's first two are set in 1877, Love Finds You in Last Chance, CA, and 1904 Love Finds You in Bridal Veil, Oregon. Each have a suspense thread as well as romance. The Love Finds You books are available in WalMart stores, Barnes and Noble, Borders, other book stores, and online.

Miralee and her husband Allen have been married 36 yrs, and live on 11 acres in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge in southern Washington state. They love to garden, play with their dogs, take walks, and Miralee rides her horse on the trails around their home with her grown daughter who lives nearby.
