Noel Hynd is the bestselling author of the highly acclaimed novels spy novels Conspiracy in Kiev, Midnight in Madrid and The Enemy Within, and Ghosts. Previous supernatural thrillers -- Ghosts, Rage of Spirits, Cemetery of Angels, A Room For The Dead were Literary Guild selections. He has also written several produced screenplays.

The Prodigy was the fourth of Mr. Hynd's supernatural thrillers. Damnation Books is now publishing the original 2009 updated and revised version of the successful 1998 novel.

"Noel Hynd is one of the few authors who have succeeded showing us what we sense in the deepest reaches of our minds. He is a master because he is
willing to go where we don't want to go in regards to the supernatural," wrote Tobe Hooper, director of Poltergeist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Salem's Lot and the upcoming From A Buick 8.

Mr. Hynd was born in New York City and grew up in New York and Connecticut. He began writing professionally before graduation from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in International
Relations. He has also written three non-fiction books. The first was The Cop and The Kid (1982) during which Mr. Hynd followed the New York City Police Department's Emergency Services Unit for more than a year. The second was The Giants of the Polo Grounds (1988), an anecdotal informal history of baseball's New York Giants, from 1873 through 1957. The latter book was a nominee for best baseball book of the year by Spitball Magazine, the literary baseball publication based in Cincinnati. It was also cited in "Editor's Choice" by the New York Times' Sunday Review of Books as one of the year's best books.

In 1995, the Actor's Guild of Lexington, Kentucky, commissioned Mr. Hynd to adapt one of his novels, A Room For The Dead, as a stage play. The new piece was given a staged reading at the Guild's theater in Lexington in February, l996. Mr. Hynd has also been a frequent contributor to various magazines, including Sports Illustrated.
