Chat with Sheila Connolly/Sarah Atwell

Sheila Connolly  has taught art history, structured and marketed municipal bonds for major cities, worked as a staff member on two statewide political campaigns, and served as a fundraiser for several non-profit organizations.  She also managed her own consulting company providing genealogical research services.  Now a full-time writer, she thinks writing mysteries is a lot more fun than any of her previous occupations.

Ms. Connolly is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, Romance Writers of America, the New England Chapter of RWA, and the online RWA mystery/suspense chapter Kiss of Death.  She began writing in 2001 and sold her first series (the Glassblowing Mystery series), under the name Sarah Atwell, to Berkley Prime Crime in 2006.  Six months later she sold a second series (the Orchard Mystery series) under her own name to the same publisher.  The first books of both series debuted in 2008.

She lives in a too-big Victorian in southeastern Massachusetts with her husband and three cats, as well as her poet-daughter who graduated from college with a degree in comparative literature and now works in a bookstore.
