Chat with Saralee Rosenberg
Saralee Rosenberg began her writing career co-authoring books on personal finance and relocation with her husband, Lee Rosenberg, a Certified Financial Planner. Their collaboration produced among others, 50 FABULOUS PLACES TO RETIRE IN AMERICA and 50 FABULOUS PLACES TO RAISE A FAMILY.
Meanwhile, with young children at home and a dream of writing fiction, Ms. Rosenberg found a home at AvonBooks, a
division of HarperCollins. Her debut, A LITTLE HELP FROM ABOVE, was published in January, 2003. This is the warm and wise story of a Jewish mother who tries to bring her embattled family together. In her case, from the afterlife. Told in a poignantly honest, laugh-out-loud voice, the book explores the enduring link between families and first loves, and asks the age-old question, who are the people in my life and what was God thinking when he threw us together?
Saralee's second novel, CLAIRE VOYANT was published in November, 2004. It is about a young actress whose life is turned upside down on a flight to Miami after she discovers that the elderly man seated next to her is indeed related, and unfortunately, dead. Readers adore Claire's chutzpah and courage as she takes off on a high spirited journey to discover a past she never knew and a future with a handsome stranger who knows the whole story.
Her next novel, FATE & MS. FORTUNE, the third in the trilogy, was published in August, 2006. This is a tale of love, luck and hopefully-ever-after. Destiny steps in at a family bar mitzvah when Robyn Fortune is offered bribe money to call a man who has had even greater misfortune than her, then discovers that their paths have been crossing since birth. Coincidence or karma? Only their fathers know for sure and they're not talking.
Due out in late July, 2008 is her fourth novel, DEAR NEIGHBOR, DROP DEAD, a hilarious, heart stopping romp over fences and defenses that takes on hormones and hunger, family feuds and fidelity, and a harrowing journey that spills the truth about an unplanned pregnancy and a miracle during the Holocaust that altered the fates of next door neighbors forever. It begs the question, what did you do to deserve living next to a crazy woman? Sometimes it's worth finding out.
Saralee is a graduate of Indiana University and lives on Long Island with her husband. They have three children and a big mortgage. (Read Audrey's review of "Dear Neighbor, Drop Dead" here.)
