The Writer's Chatroom Topic Chat: Hey, I've Got a Great Idea!
Published: Wed, 06/26/13
(Thanks to Kevin Tipple's blog for this topic)
Where do writers get their story ideas? Walter Mosley gets his from Montgomery Ward. Authors lucky enough to have Janet Reid as their agent sometimes get their ideas straight from her. Read Janet's post for tonight's topic chat.
Are you afraid of submitting because you think the agent might steal your ideas? Whatever your idea, someone in the chatroom probably has something similar saved on their hard drive. (Not to mention that there are probably at least a dozen books already published with that same basic idea.)
How often does someone tell you they have a great idea and, if you write the book, the two of you can split the profits? If that has never happened to you, you aren't telling people you're a writer!
Join us tonight to discuss writing ideas and what to do with them, for the first hour. We'll take any other questions you may have in the second hour. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We look forward to chatting with you!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having problems with your writing? Need plot advice or marketing tips? Looking for suggestions on who/what to read next? Come on in! If we don't know the answer, we'll make something up. We are creative people, ya know.
8 pm EST (check the clock above the login screen) the door will open. Type in the name you want us to call you by, and click the login button. No password needed for scheduled chats.
