Many visitors to the chatroom have seen my comment thAT 'brevity is my longsuit.' I like short fiction. I learned to write fiction that was 2000 words or less. A novel sized story was a reach for me. I still prefer to capture things and deliver them in few words.
Flash Fiction can be very powerful. Struck by an image or thought or just the sound of a word echoing through your mind at 2 AM? Jot it down and expanded later.
Flash Fiction can be done in one sitting. I've entered a few Flash Fiction Contests and I know I placed first in one of them. Flash Fiction is something a writer can commit to doing once a day, once a week or once a month.
Do you have a favorite Flash Story? Do you have a pocket full of ideas for a Flash?
I saw a place online that was looking for 3 part Flash Stories that would fit, one at a time, on a coffee bag. I don't know if it is still out there but I thought it was a brilliant idea. Maybe you know a great place to submit Flash...
