Mark Orr's first novel, Smarter Than the Average Werewolf, has been described as "a

Harvey Drago, the Intangible Private Eye, is hired to track down a serial killer known as the West End Werewolf. Only gradually does Harvey come to realize that he's hunting an actual lycanthrope, and can only hope that his ability to pass through solid objects will protect him. Smarter Than the Average Werewolf is the first in a projected series of hard-boiled supernatural mysteries. The first sequel, Dead Women in Love, in which Harvey is hired by a vampire pimp to find out who's been leaving the ladies of the evening out after sunrise, is currently under construction. Titles to follow include Elvish Has Left the Building, Male and Female Made He Them, Experienced Corruption, Speak Not Ill of the Undead and Deploy All Monsters.
Mark has had published several dozen short stories, articles, poems and critiques over the past twelve years, and spent a short time as political humorist and editor for an online publication, Miscellaneous Ramblings. He was also, briefly, Senior Mystery Editor for Futures Mysterious Anthology Magazine. Daverana Enterprises has published an e-book collection of Mark's short fiction, Hard-Boiled Horrors: Tales of the ParaNoirmal, available through Smashwords and Amazon.
Mark was Alabama born, Tennessee raised, and has lived in or near Nashville most of his life. He has been married for thirty-one years, during which time he has accumulated a B.A. in History from the University of Tennessee, three daughters, and a granddaughter. And ten thousand books. He spends his non-writing hours working with adults with disabilities to help them learn the skills they need to get and keep jobs, and so become independent. His life is pretty good.
