What makes a novelist successful? We hear a lot of conflicting opinions today. It depends on who your publisher is, how your book is distributed, how many FaceBook "friends" you have, etc. Donald Maass brings some hope. "Your success is not up to your publisher; it is up to you and the fiction that you write."

I think we can all agree that Maass knows what he's talking about. His Donald Maass Literary Agency represents more than 100 novelists and sells more than 100 books a year to publishing houses such as Warner, Ballantine, Penguin Putnam and Random House, sometimes for as much as six- and seven-figure advances.

Maass says good writing still gets noticed. http://www.maassagency.com/lookfor.html

Join us tonight to discuss "good writing" for the first hour. We'll discuss any other questions you may have in the second hour.

If I Should Die by Sally Franklin Christie

Murder, Embezzlement, Betrayal and Silence: If I Should Die is a suspenseful journey into the lives of many people.  The choices and impacts are repulsive and inspiring.  Silence will never sound the same.
