Retired after twenty-three years of working with students pursing higher education, Ginger Simpson intended to spend most of her time writing. Life has a way of changing plans, and she found herself relocating to
Tennessee to be near her grandson. Spencer, who is now eight-years-old, was diagnosed with autism, and with mom and dad both working, "Nee Nee" was the logical choice of caretakers. She doesn't mind since he's the light of her life and inspires her with how he faces his challenges head-on.
The cultural differences between California and Tennessee were shocking at first, but even more surprising, Ginger had to pursue employment during their first year in the South, and landed a position as Correctional Officer in the county jail. For someone who had never carried a firearm or considered using pepper spray, this 'gun-totin' granny used the experience to her advantage and wrote First Degree
Innocence, which is one of her newest releases.
Ginger has ten full-length novels, seven novellas, and several short stories published, and she intends to keep writing as long as she can. Once determined to find her way into mainstream, she has recently decided to bloom where she's planted and follow her writing dream for the passion and not for the money. A recent advertisement on Ginger's blog offered a reward for information leading to the locale of all the readers who used to frequent the Yahoo loops. Anyone with "intel" is urged to email her.
