The Writer's Chatroom Topic Chat: How NOT To Sell Books
Published: Wed, 04/08/15
Tell everyone about your book, constantly.
Tweet about your book every hour of the day. Create a new website for every book you have to sell. Ask for reviews, shares and retweets on every post you make. When you review someone's book, let them know and ask them to review yours. Great marketing advice, right? NO!!! You will see these kinds of tips all over the internet. They are not good marketing advice, they are ways to turn people off and make sure they don't buy your book. Anne R Allen breaks it down for us, and explains why each one is a bad idea. http://annerallen.blogspot.com/2015/03/how-not-to-sell-books-top-10-social.html For the record, we invite promotions in chat. But they are limited to a few minutes at the very beginning. If you want to promote your book/blog/website in the chatroom, be there at the start of chat. Join us tonight to discuss the topic for the first hour. We'll take any other questions you may have in the second hour.
