I am about to cross the 30K mark on my 2014 NaNoWriMo project.  Because brevity is my long-suit, making to the 50K winners' circle is quite an accomplishment.  When I am stuck for what to write next to push the story and word count ahead, I resort to conversation.  Dialog does a lot of work.

Does Your Car Have Good Tires? Writing Realistic Dialogue by Kathy Otten

Having good dialogue in your story is like having good tires on your car. Dialogue grips the road of your plot and keeps your story car rolling smoothly up and down hills, through the twists and turns of your plot road. Poor dialogue can cause low-pressure and blow-outs in your tires which can keep your story from moving forward.

Because this post is heavy in dialog it would be a very good idea to check it out before the chat.

Join us tonight to discuss dialogue for the first hour. We'll take any other questions you may have in the second hour.
