 What is NaNoWriMO?

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.

NaNoWriMo begins on 1 November 2014.  31 days from now!  October is a good time to start collecting characters, settings, plot bunnies and snacks to take with you into NaNoWriMo.  You can prep all you want before NaNo, you just can't begin writing the story.

If you are anything like me, you scrap all of the pre-nano notes on the first day because they invite the dreaded editor to take over.

Let's start our October by creating a character.
