Winner of the
2014 Gival Press Fiction Award for her upcoming novel, Elizabeth Harris’s second book is a literary novel with a historical setting in 1936 Central Texas, about a stock farming couple who end up on trial for castrating a neighbor. Most of the book is about the interior life of the
wife after the event as a femme sole in small town Texas. Harris’ first book won the University of Iowa Press Short Fiction Award.
